Allow users to leave comments on in-store items while online. We can rate the item and leave feedback for the creator/other purchasers. Feedback could include things like the status of compatibility with certain avatars or requesting another color for example.

Laela Lothbrok This indeed would be a very helpful feature

entity Having more contact options to the seller/creator would be more beneficial than star rating systems, which are usually 1 star or 5 star and nothing inbetween (why Facebook and Youtube adopted only like/dislike), and rarely helps a purchaser decide.
Feedback is more beneficial directly to the seller/creator, so contact buttons with a quick note would actually help more than public posts.
"If you like my product service, please tell everyone. If you don't like my product/service, please tell ME" works best. -
Andrew Lawrence That's a great point entity. A lot of issues would be solved if we had basic communication and object sending abilities.

Paisley I can agree on your first point regarding 1 & 5 star reviews. In fact, I'm guilty of it myself but mostly because I don't want the creator to be left wondering why I gave something one number versus another. For example, with shoes I've given 4's if I liked the shoes themselves but they weren't rigged maybe so they didn't work on my custom avatar. I don't really have the time to seek each person out to let them know why I didn't give them a 5, nor do I want to since it was perhaps their plan not to rig the shoes and even reaching out isn't going to make them do it. I also feel bad giving someone's well constructed, visually satisfying item a lower score if maybe the texture isn't to my taste/is too reflective? Seems benign.
Either way, I believe I have a good point of contact with my usual creator suppliers and have gone to a handful of them with comments/concerns (many of which ultimately became fixes/improvements). But that's me...
I think it's unfair to not include other consumers on the process. A perfect example of where this would be helpful is with the new beanie hair in the store at the moment. There are some 1 star reviews and I have to ask - why? The creator offers a demo and clearly states each hair is a static "hair color" with a customization beanie that can be color-selected in lieu of the hair. The creator goes out of her way to mention that certain custom avatars do not fit the hair correctly. Are they giving it a 1 because they didn't read well enough to know the hair color isn't changeable? Did they not read that their avatar was not compatible? Maybe they were like me and had Daphne which wasn't listed as whether it worked or not. So did they not try the free demo before buying? Did they give it a 1 because they don't like the way the beanie looks or the hair (one or the other?) Is it not their style but they got it anyway? If they reached out and said "I don't like that exact shade of blonde" I wouldn't really blame the creator if she didn't want to make any changes to appease an unhappy buyer (not saying she wouldn't, she might), but I would sure love to read that comment as a consumer so that I can ignore it and see it for what it really is (a preference versus a defect) and I can make the informed decision myself. -
Andrew Lawrence That's true that ratings are almost useless at best, and misleading at worst, if there's no explanation that goes along with them.

entity I have purchased the beanie on the store and have contacted the seller as to why some people may rate it low due to some issues and some listing tips to eliminate any confusion as to what is being sold.
The response was to block me on Discord.
This is what happens when you give feedback to sellers on Sansar. -
Paisley Hmmm, I saw the listing when it came out and it seemed pretty clear to me? I tried the demo and if it had fit Daphne, I was going to get one, but it didn't. I'm curious of your feedback. I'd ask on discord, but you have me blocked.. :o

entity Consider this conversation what would happen in the comments on a product, with exactly the same result - just as pointless.

Paisley You're a bright person who provides insightful and sometimes even helpful responses, Entity. It's a shame that your go-to argument is that "it" is suddenly "pointless" when someone else makes a valid point, though. Like when I straight up stood up for having the dancing baby avatar and you still took it as an attack, said everything was "pointless" and blocked me lol. Imagine if you progressed to a place where you could simply agree to disagree with a person... I even asked for clarification on your feedback here, but rather than provide it or agree to disagree civilly, you'd prefer to call it moot. That's fine.
The point is that without comments on in-store items you are either left in the dark or at the mercy of the creator to explain themselves/justify/correct the error either by changing the item or refunding the money. If you accept the lack of comment system at this time then you're also passively supporting the lousy star system currently in place, so I cannot say I agree.
"Believe it if you need it, if you don't, just pass it on."

entity I don't respond to accusations, claims of oppression, or straight up lies. These are the tools of the people who TRULY can't make an argument without first attacking the speaker.
I am a bright person who provides insightful AND helpful responses. This is due to years of experience in whatever I am commenting on - and want to share my experience in that matter to save others time and anguish. It is what REAL help and REAL respect for others is based on.
My argument was not a go-to, but an observed fact. Comments are used to either praise or disparage the creator of an item, and are rarely helpful in their extremes. This can be seen even on the average Yelp review - "Her muffins were heavenly creamy bliss" vs "My dog didn't even want to eat the muffin" and renders the reviews moot.
1) LL can come up with a preview system for the items, much that are used on pretty much EVERY other 3D marketplace - if they care that much.
"A picture(s) speak a 1000 words" that comments never will.
2) LL can use the existing Lookbook technology to preview clothing items, where it might not take much to improve it, and everyone can get what they want - "Let's see if this Marvelous Designer dress can fit on my crazy customized avatar"
3) LL can at the VERY LEAST and TOMORROW, add a UI element to CONTACT the seller. Sansar already has a built-in messaging system to people directly in the platform. This will be needed because many of us no longer use their Discord - and cannot be contacted that way.
4) As Sansar is in Early Access - the ability to also send a small note along with a payment or refund could be useful. -
Paisley Yeah, but where were you accused, oppressed, or lied to here exactly? I legitimately cannot think of an unpleasant or oppressive interaction I've had with you here, discord, or on the platform yet your responses are still hostile.
Allowing comments on items is unarguably an easier fix than implementing preview systems or advancing lookbook. lol I would personally prefer either of those options, but that simplicity was the basis of my request. It's such a simple workaround to my issues...even though it isn't the preferred option, if they decline to add comments AT LEAST, then I would feel resentful rather than impatient. My point was never "comments are the superior answer," but rather "please allow comments if you're not planning to make previews anytime soon." I hope that helps clarify whatever you're finding disagreeable.
I don't find it terribly difficult to contact the seller even in-game. It's not as user-friendly as it could be, but I don't think that's the core issue for serious users.I really like the idea on sending a note with request for refund!

Bluebell I am against comments, unless the is a rule of contacting the seller 1st. Then there should be a reasonable reaction time (creators have lives and go on vacation). Contact should be made in Sansar private chat. Unless stated otherwise in the store. Then it would be fair. I came from SL and the bashing that is done there is not what we want. Fair should work both ways and remember, we are still in Beta. Stuff may/will break and updating your items or shaders takes time.
-
Agustine I agree with Bluebell ....don't support commenting unless it has moderation control to filter out spam or bad commenting. There should be feedback option and subscription so that users can subscribe to a creator's store and be able to send feedback directly via discord...
-
Paisley I totally understand not wanting it to be a "bash" fest. I maintain that I'd prefer a way to try items in lookbook before purchase and without comments, but without that - "messaging the creator" does nothing if the creator is no longer around or if the creator doesn't wish to make changes or even respond (which is unfortunately the case sometimes). Comments would be helpful for those abandoned items/emotes, and I've heard this more and more recently from new players regarding 1.0 items and emotes. People wasting money on things that are useless to them with no way of effectively warning others. Perhaps use something like PP has with a message private seller first and if no response then Sansar handles a return or dispute? *shrug* there simply must be a better way than this in state
-
Agustine or contact Sansar support on inactive accounts so they can close them down...
-
Banned Sounds like you guys don't want comments because you're afraid some people may say something you'd disagree with. I personally say yes to comments. I don't see why not. It'd be as helpful as we're here discussing things on the forum that may/may not help the platform grow. Customers should have the ability to share the comments/review of a creator's products. It's literally normal anywhere.
-
Agustine Why were you banned, lol .....at my youtube I have comments with moderation anything that spams, not relatee to my videos and harrassment, hate is thrown out.....thats how I would like Sansar to have its comments...
-
Bluebell Hi @ Banned,
It is not that I do not want ratings, I am used to them as I created for SL. I think we should have them, but in a way bashing is not an option. As I stated above, with a few guidelines/rules, I would welcome them. A creator is not just a creator, they shop too, like I still cannot make decent hair, so I have to buy it, just like you ;).
As, again, for not wanting comments/ratings, creators do not have the option to make this possible. LL would have to do this.

grdhtr5432 yes you are right and i agree with your point it will be very interesting and very easy for the buyers and seller to give and recieve feedbacks i also reading an article that is suggesting the same point to do.
