Hi, I want to be able to build objects within my experiences. I cant seem to find out how to do this. Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

It's not possible to build objects from scratch within an experience, but you can import FBX and OBJ files.
I thought so. Doesn't make sense since the build feature is so popular in second life. I hope they change their mind to allow creating objects in sansar. Thanks Andrew.
Yeah, if there was an object generation tool for basic objects it would help a lot.
Totally. Do you do any building or creating in sansar? If so what do you use? I just down loaded Blender and was able to export a cube into sansar. I was not able to change the color or other features of the cube other than its scale. So I guess things will need to be made and detailed prior to exporting into sansar.
"I hope they change their mind to allow creating objects in sansar."
They didn't just up and decide we shall not allow this!
It's a matter of technical feasibility.
Second Life is built on an entirely different architecture.
And it's 15 years dated now.
I use 3D Studio Max and Wings 3D, and normally only use Blender when I need to set up bones for something. Since you were able to import your cube successfully, you must have already set up the UV map correctly. You can right-click an object in the scene list and edit the color and materials based on how you set up the UV map.
It would be technically possible to generate basic objects with UV maps, like cubes and other rectangular boxes, based on a request for a certain length, width and height. The dimensions wouldn't need to be editable after being generated, only the textures for each face which we can already do now with the material editor. That would certainly be easier than importing an FBX or OBJ that someone else created, and they've already done that. So they already have a process for generating a Sansar object programmatically based on complicated input from a model file. It would be easier to create another process for generating a Sansar object programmatically from a simple length, width and height input.
There are export tools on the second life marketplace that allow you to export prims.
You could build in prims in second life. Export them. Then import them into Sansar.
Not really sure but i don't think Second Life is a leading industry standard for 3D asset creating.
Use 3DS max, Maya, C4D, Zbrush. These are the best tools available for 3D content creation.
