Hello I am new to Sansar and I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on creating maps when using MD to design clothing. For right now I have been uploading with the default maps but would like my clothing to have less of a plastic effect. I know other 3D Programs have tools for generating these maps but I was wondering what people normally do when they're using MD and if they use other programs for this.

Garth Hi Moonglow!
Materialize from Bounding Box Software is often mentioned as a popular free program to use. Simply hit the "o" button on the diffuse material accept and use the result to create a height map. Then you can create all the other maps from this. One thing is that Materialize creates a "smoothness" map instead of "roughness" So you will need to invert this in an image editor. This should help with the plasticky problem. All images should be PNG with dimensions a whole multiple of four. As long as your UVs are set how you like in MD you can select newly created materials in materials settings on upload.
If you need help, reach out to help@sansar.com!

Tina - Helper I use Substance Painter for all my texture needs,
don't even need Photoshop anymore.
