Multi-Part Objects

Anybody having issues with "Multi-Part Collision Meshes"? https://help.sansar.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004352443-Working-with-multi-part-objects#Naming-scheme-for-importing-collision-meshes

I made a basic prop with door and its enclosure with the door as root. following names..

- door

- case

...then made the collisions with following names with door as root.

- door_collision

- case_collision

...finally, selected all meshes then exported fbx then uploaded to Sansar..

However, only the door collision was converted to volume and the case_collision wasn't...

  I maybe mistaken, but isn't this the whole reason you cannot manipulate individual meshes within a group that have been imported as a single mesh, because it only creates one volume?

  To my understanding, Sansar considers multiple objects within a single model name, as one.

  I believe your only way forward is to import each component separately. Tedious and not the best solution in reality.

  Hi, its being looked into...I've spoken to others who used blender and they do not have that issue.... the problem is only with multiple collisions.. in my case using 3dsmax. Multiple collisions suppose to import as volumes when using string "_collision" ....give it a try and check to see if it works for you..

  I just uploaded a similar box and door type thing yesterday, and following the export suggestions and multipart documentation.

  I did not have any problems, the mesh are defined as they should be.

  I am using Blender 2.79 still at this point.

  @entity Thanks for checking..... others who use Blender told me same thing...it works for Blender. In my experiment I used 3dsMax... if it cannot be resolved will just use Blender to export it..

  Finally, I exported with Blender and am getting same bug result as 3dsMax. Either its a bug or Sansar is not advanced yet to support multi linked parent child objects. If anyone else wants to test this.. here is the steps below....

  1.) Create a case and a door for it.

  2.) Create the collisions for it; case_collision and door_collision

  3.) Link case to door resulting door as Parent.

  4.) Link case_collision to door_collision resulting in door_collision as parent.

  5.) Select all and export as fbx.

  6.) Import to Sansar in default mesh uploader.

  7.) Rez your object in a scene.

  8. Open object structure browser to check it.

  9.) Do you see case_collision static mesh?

  10.) How many volumes you see?

  Thanks to Sergio DelaCruz for clarifying the steps. No linking is required. After selecting all meshes deselect then reselect meshes meant to be parent mesh.
