Lost Gizmo after Setting Standard for lighting rendering in Build

I have been playing with lighting in one of my experiences/scenes, I make changes, save/build and enter to see them (tedious). Until now, all has been okay.

I wanted to see the lighting in a better setting so built the scene using 'standard' for lighting. Saw what I needed but when I returned to Edit, the gizmo was gone. Restarted Sansar, no change, rebooted my PC, no change, Cold rebooted the PC, no change.

 

In addition, I wanted to see the lighting in a better setting because the first set of lights I setup, were the tint colour I set them at, but after a couple of builds during edits, they now show as a purple colour. No settings in the tint setting changes anything. The other lights are just fine.

  Add:

  Tried other experiences of mine, still no gizmo. Will try deleting cache files and reload.

  Add: I could not discover any Cache folder, so I uninstalled Sansar and reinstalled afresh.

  This had no effect, so I assume it is a bug in the client.

  Apart from having no Gizmo, some other strange effects are apparent:

  When selecting a mesh (only affects one of several meshes), I cannot now see a materials entry to make adjustments.

  I have double checked the settings options and nothing makes a difference.

  Update:

  The issues were corrected when I unchecked Surface Snap.

  I discovered this after reinstalling Sansar, restoring windows to a former date, checking and renewing mouse drivers and graphics drivers. After a few hours creating maps for shaders, it occured to me to retrace my steps from the following day.

  Apparently, it is by design that the gizmo disappears when Snap to Surface is selected, not sure why the materials menu wasn't available on some meshes. However I pointed out, even when using Snap to Surface, you still need the gizmo to move the model into position.

  Uninstalling Sansar I would expect NOT to uninstall the cache. This is a separation of code and data.

  Surprised you went all the way to a windows restore just to get the gizmo to show up.

  And yea surface snap is not really implemented well from a UI point. Should probably be a single action toggle.

  Its a standard workflow I go through to eradicate any Updates that sneak in and screw things up. Did you know Windows is full of bugs? :)

  The restoring didn't provide a cure, other than to distract me long enough to decide to retrace my steps from 24 hours previous. It wasn't an obvious solution so took a while.

  Posting the solution here, saves a lot of time for everyone. I did also report this 'bug'.
