I have a number of programs (3000 lines long) that are exactly the same except for the values of 2 variables. My only choices are to have the buyer of these scripts configure these two variables via script configuration or to repeat the code with the variable values hardcoded in the program. I choose the latter because I don't want to trust the program working based on the buyer correctly configuring the values after they put they install the script in a Trigger Volume.
I would like to be able to read a text file that would be in the same trigger volume to configure the script. I could also use this approach to build word based games like Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Trivia, etc using these text files (i.e. notecards). It is fundamental to be able to have the data and the code separated for most applications I would like to build. It doesn't need to be fancy, just reading the text file.
That way I can create a program that the user can easily configure to be a new instance of a game or another type of musical instrument (in my scripts).
