I noticed that the value is being truncated sometimes now. Like if I put in 32, it will be 3 the next time I open the editor. I'm not sure how to reproduce it.
This is also happening to me.
I begin to import a model, which at default is 255 255 255. I do nothing, and the resulting imported model is unchanged, at 255 255 255.
I begin to import the same model, and I change it to 175 175 175. The resulting imported model is 116 116 116.
I begin to import the same model, and I change it to 155 155 155. The resulting imported model is 90 90 90.
Again with 100 100 100. The result is 38 38 38.
Yes, results are repeatable, but I don't know formula.

if we can get 255 people to just try one set of numbers then we could plot them in excel and do a curve fit to them and have our Sansar Tinting formula!
I suspect some crazy RGB -> HSV miscalculation
Also this seems to only happen on grey scale values, so a quick fix is set them to each like +/- 1 of the other
