Hi all - I got an email on 1/27/18 stating this----> "Please note that at the free level you are allotted 3 experiences. If you have more than this amount, your experiences will not be removed. However, you will not be able to create any experiences until you are within the 3 experience limit. "

 

Then I got an email today stating this--->"Please note that at the free level, you are allotted 3 experiences. If you have more than this, you will need to remove experiences."

 

Well ??? Which is it?

  Both?

  They will not be removed, but you will need to remove experiences before you can make more.

  We encourage users of the free plan to remove experiences in excess of three, in order to to be within the allotted limit for their subscription level. If they’re not within the limit they won’t be able to create any new experiences.

  ok I understand - you are trying to urge or persuade people to that end. It's not being mandated at this time.

  When they wrote the second message they decided to not explain why you may need to remove some in the future, and simply stated that you will need to remove some.  It's certainly a confusing change in communication that may have been ordered by the marketing department.  In both messages, they are trying to explain the rules and sell us a subscription at the same time.  However, the first message is a facts-based approach that works fairly well, and it's clear based on those facts that we won't be forced to remove any experiences unless we decide to.  The second message appears to be a dishonest scare tactic, which leaves out important facts and explicitly states that we will need to remove experiences.  That is simply NOT the case unless we delete one and want to create another one.

  I try to look at it optimistically as: we're not going to automatically and instantly decide which experiences to delete for you. You get to choose. And right now, the easiest way to do that is to ask you to be on your honor and do the choosing.

  Also... key concept which can be confusing at first but is useful in the long run: experiences and scenes can be linked, but they are different.

  You can choose to delete "Experience only" connected to a scene, which leaves the unvisitable but saved scene layout... which you could re-link at some future time, including if you decide to upgrade your plan. And there isn't a # limit of scenes.

  We've discussed the possibility of making the interface clearer, so that you can create a scene without it necessarily being hooked up to an experience link from the get-go.
