I am working on jeans in Marvelous Designer and the textures and stitching in the program look crisp and beautiful. After uploading into Sansar the textures get very blurry and the stitches have disappeared. Is there something I am doing wrong? It's making creating certain clothes impossible. Any help would be very appreciated. :)

Lori It isn't you, it's the MD export. When you go to export there is a dialog box that should pop-up that states the things that won't transfer. Topstitching is on the list.
I also noticed that the texture map that came over was not nearly as high-res as it should have been.
The sim in Sansar is not nearly as good as MD either. You need to really sew things down in MD so they don't look bad in Sansar.
These are just some of my first observations. I only tested it once.

Annie Melson Ahh okay. I suppose the only way to get nicer textures at this moment in time is by not using MD at all and rigging the clothing? I'll do that if it gives a better product.

Bluebell - Helper 1st of all, @ Lori: Glad to see you joined in! I learned a lot from your a few years back when I 1st started to use MD! Welcome!
What has a lot to do with the textures being far from crisp is the way MD packs the pattern/islands upon export when you use the Samd export. MD uses only a very small area of the 2048 texture. In my case, a very simple 4 piece pattern, only 1/4th of the available space was used. Resulting in a texture that was blurry. Comparable with a 1024 texture. When you insist on using the Samd export option you have no control over how the pattern pieces are packed. Claimed is that rotating the pattern would improve the packing tightness. I did not see much difference tho.
I for one am amazed by the limitations that are implemented the way things are set up right now. I expected this to be the other way around. Lot's of us are sitting on a large pile of clothing that is ready to go... but there are too many bugs to guaranty quality to our customers.

Debi Baskerville We have been told by several Lindens working on the MD integration that the UV situation is currently being addressed. Hopefully we will see much better UVs soon.

Lori I went to open MD this morning and got an update notice for 3.2.123. Here's the Change Log.
[3.2.123]
[Updated] UV Guide shows zipper and button
[Updated] User can select 'export to sansar' with two options :
1. Use auto-generated UV Maps - same as before
2. Use UV Maps on UV Guide - use uv map on uv guide. (same as fbx/obj)
[Fixed] Fixed a bug with white seams when export a garment to .samdThey are obviously getting a lot of feedback on the Sansar stuff. Maybe these changes will help?

Elendre I got the updated MD this morning. The new UV Maps on UV Guide is a big help. It creates the UV maps for the SAMD in the same layout you get when you export and OBJ - which is the pattern layout. Very helpful indeed!
It's nice to see how responsive both Sansar and Marvelous Designer are to the needs of the creators. This was a very quick and timely turnaround! -
Urukan OMG ! Lori, the one on the videos ! Love them ! <3

Elendre Better UVs from MD would certainly be welcome!
