The "Submit a request" button you see on the top of these web pages is a good way to communicate with LL. Yes, I know you'd probably like to talk directly to the programmer in charge of some specific feature or maybe the CEO, but of course that's not the intended starting point there.
Thankfully, you actually can talk directly to the programmer in charge of some specific feature or maybe the CEO via Discord. Join up and start a public chat or reach out to someone specific if you know who they are.
thanks for the tip! never heard of Discord actually. I'm trying to propose a unique experience for Sansar, but it would require some cooperation from LL, since server space (i.e. Sansar Real Estate) is not available quite yet. It would be a pretty big experience.
A region is 4 km by 4 km, each person gets 3 of these for free. Team up with a few people and you have "pretty big"
Ehm the regions can not be linked together as in SL those other regions would only be able to reach by teleport.but still pretty big.
if you were going to create a path traveling from mountain to ocean terrain. seems a bit big? 4km by 4km seems large. Do you know about how long it takes to walk from one end to the other?
I'm not sure how fast you go and i cant test it now I'm afraid, and you can make the the walk as long or short as you wish. Also i don't think 4x4 is very practical (yet) as bigger it gets the longer it takes to load imo, but straight it would be something about 40/50 minutes i wildly guess now. With turning and up and down or even turn around that would get longer of course. don't pin me down on it.
Lokomotiv: I would caution you regarding large spaces. Many people have declared their wish to do so; it's a common dream. And some have already tried. Practically speaking, there are limits that may be much tighter than you suspect. LL has done good work so far in making Sansar's platform's basics and making it so scenes can be beautiful, but they are quick to acknowledge that they have many optimizations ahead of them to make it more practical to do what we all intuit should be possible. That includes getting more than 30 people in a scene instance (they are shooting only for 100 as a peak, sadly). But it also includes improvements in level-of-detail (LOD) model optimization, smarter precaching of downloads, offloading of expensive detail dynamics (like face movements) from server to client, and so on.
Practically speaking, if you want to create a large world, learn more about the tactics used to break a design up into multiple separate scenes in a way that seems least disruptive to the user experience. The recent Hollywood Art Museum shows a good example. There are many (mostly future) exhibits indicated by the various warehouse-like building exteriors. When you walk up to the Star Wars one, it teleports you to a new scene with the full interior of the warehouse represented. This is one of the emerging breakdown schemes — maybe call it the "exterior-to-interior hierarchy".
Alex Bader has created a good example of how much space you can create in a natural setting with a high density of detail. Check it out:

I think Alex, from his many years of creating organic settings in Second Life, has a mastery of how to hide the relative smallness of a real space using a variety of tactics like winding paths, obscured horizons, and semi-random reuse of assets. I think you could learn a lot by observing this scene, alone.
yea I just found this last night, eerily similar to what I want to accomplish :) maybe I should reach out to him. He does amazing work.
Hello, I've been trying to transfer my sansar dollars over to my paypal, and have been rejected about three times, the information to my paypal is already linked. I'm wondering what might be the issue here
