People using voice have very different volume levels on their mics. Also, experiences can be loud. In order to hear someone at a distance or with a low microphone, it's tempting to turn up our volumes. But this comes with a genuine risk of hearing damage.
Is it possible to build in a selective volume throttle so loud sounds are lowered to a maximum threshold while quieter sounds are allowed to increase in volume? This is impossible in the real world (right now) but entirely possible in Sansar.
I suspect auditory damage is going to be a growing topic in VR in the next few years. It's one actual health hazard from virtual worlds.
