Thanks in advance :-)

Miss Amarylis Oh
Hi Miss Amarylis Oh, we need more information... which 3d program are you using? Also, how many textures are you using for this model? Are they all only diffuse map? What are their sizes?
Hi Augustine, I used sketchup to create a simple box (fbx format). Uploading whitout using the materials tab in Sansar works fine. When i try to upload using the materials sub menu i get for som textures this error. The size of one of the textures that fails (png format) is 352x264. I was able to upload a material of this size on the same object though. The file size is 131kb. just like the one that does work of the same size.
Ok, be sure the textures are at least 256x256 or higher.. the object must be uvmapped as well...
I would also suggest that textures be square textures "powers of 2" and the best sizes are 256x256 and 512x512 for small textures. 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 also work if you want fine detail. Those texture sizes should be used till you get success.
I have used textures that are not square in my early days, but now that we have the materials tab, Sansar may now require square textures for it to work.
May I ask, did your model look correct when you uploaded it without using the material tab?
Miss Amarylis Oh, your not Amigatu Choche in SL are you?
hahaha Augustine ! No i am not :-) I am also Amarylis oh in sl :-)
Yes Ethos, my model looked correct. I will keep the square sized textures in mind and experiment some more.
Ok Miss Amarylis Oh, do you uvmap your models in sketchup? If so, which uvmap plugin you use?
I am having this similar problem
The object is a single plane with one diffuse 512x512 .png image mapped to it's ONLY face using Blender.
did you do a uv unwrap? In Blender even a plane needs one. Go to edit mode, press A to select all, press U ---> unwrap (in case of the plane)
Did you fixed it? I have once uploaded my map from mudbox, and got in same problem, upload to maya and nothing.
My solution was to save as OBJ, import without texture from mudbox and save in fbx.
Checking my UV map was ok, I have to save textures and add them externally using option from materials menu inside sansar.
I dont like to loose too much time sinking programs results, I try make it raw fbx to upload maps manually from sansar materials dropdown menu on after creating/fix uvmap on blender/maya.
@Malakina, Yes, I ALWAYS unwrap the model and assign materials. It is habit for me as 3d modeler.
@gfcprogramer, I plan to try different versions of Blender, then will try fbx export from other tools. I tried applying the materials manually with the same error result. I was using the most recent version of Blender on this fbx export. I will try different versions and other tools on the file today.
@OhMy maybe you want to share the blender file, so others can have a look at and maybe find the error or possibly be able to tell if they got the same problem? I mean afterall it's just a plane, right? ;)
Ok this appears to be a problem with Blender version. I did export the file from Blender 2.64 and import to Sansar with no problems.
Blender 2.78c is the one I had problems with the .fbx export. Looks like this one is sorted for me! Yay!
@Malakina, I'm super happy I managed to figure out it is a problem with export using this specific version. I found it rather silly to have such a problem with 4 vertice and one face :P
Thanks for figure out. This really helps diminish a the manual workload.
.
well I can only speak for myself.. I use Maya as well as Blender and I also use version 2.78c and it worked fine. Maybe there was just a error in the installation or whatever..
I will go for a re-install of my 2.78c to see if it might have a snag somewhere.;) Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!
