How to avoid async hell?

Many of Sansar's APIs use callbacks. Is there a plan for avoiding asynchronous hell / the pyramid of doom?

Ideally, Sansar would support async / await - does it? The compiler seems to have some concept, but maybe I'm not using them correctly (first time using C#). I was trying to start basic by calling an async method from my SceneObjectScript's Init() method - I couldn't get this to work.

Even if async / await are supported, most of Sansar's API uses callbacks.. Is there any way to convert these to async / await? I've tried wrapping these API methods in TaskCompletionSource, but then I realized the System,Threading.Tasks namespace isn't supported (understandably).
