There's something terribly wrong with the UV mapping when FBX imported into Blender. Lots of overlaying, etc. Looks like multiple UVs overlayed but there's only a single UV map assigned to this body mesh.

Porcupine Lab Same problem also with 3ds max for the female avatar. Instead the male avatar seems ok.

Medhue There are 2 UVmaps in the body, or 2 material sets. 1 is clearly labeled nails, and the other is labeled body. No issue here.

Skye @Medhue - You're looking at the female version? I clearly see one UV Map listed for body and somehow other UV maps appear to be merged into this one as shown in pic. I would expect to see a single UV with only the body UV's.

Luise There are two materials and their uv maps look overlapping when both selected. If only one selected the uv looks ok. But there is an issue with the unwrapping of the female right foot.

Medhue @Skye - I have looked at both. The male has the UV maps layed out side by side, and the female has them overlayed. Either way doesn't matter much. both the male and female have 2 materials on the body, 1 for the body and 1 for nails.
@Luis - Yes, I do see those messed up verts in the female body UV map also.

Skye I realize it doesn't matter much since it still renders ok. Just that it would be nice to see...
- Only a single UV map is displayed when the Body mesh is selected
- Only a single UV map is displayed when the Head mesh is selected
etc.
Is this possible to do? I think it would help those who may be new and are thrown off by the overlapping UVs. I've seen a lot of examples files and even youtube videos of people demonstrating stuff with UV maps and I can't recall ever seeing one where UV maps were overlapped. If so, it's pretty rare.

Skye I see now what you mean by selecting the materials. Af first, I was clicking on the materials in the materials list assuming that was what you meant by selecting. But, you mean select the material and then click the button that says "Select" (assuming everything is deselected first). This is interesting. I've never seen this done before so I just learned something new. Usually, what I've seen is that a whole selected mesh would be laid and spaced out on a single UV layout with no overlapping (unless it shared texture space).

Medhue It definitely is strange if you've never seen it. They joined the finger nails to the body mesh. That is why there are 2. You could remove the nails, or separate them out, by selecting the nails in Edit mode using materials, and then type p on the keyboard, and select Selection or Material. Then go into Object mode and you will see the nails are no long joined to the body.

Skye No, the way it's setup is fine and makes sense now. It was just unexpected to me is all and was trying to get a clear sense of what you guys were explaining. Thanks for the help!
