TYLER! So glad to explore what you've built out after you showed me a much earlier version. I liked seeing all the swaying cryopods, the ship intercom announcer... then it got progressively more disturbing with the amber and red lights, digging deeper into the belly of the so-called beast.
Like what you did with the various ship hum ambiences and the growling evil noises. Definitely get an alien vibe!
A couple things I noticed:
(1) It appears at times when walking through the corridors, the announcer's voice (who is she?) got very muffled like it was being occluded by some invisible wall, maybe a barrier up on the ceiling. I walked back and forth and re-triggered the voice announcements. Doesn't seem like it was intentional, but I recall you mentioned similar issues to me before, so if you'd like, I'd like to help you troubleshoot this for future chapters.
As a rule, an audio emitter playing from a object with a physical shape/static mesh will not occlude itself, so it may've been something else in the way.
(2) After I got through the maze in the liquid (water?) and headed to the long corridors, I notice there are some silent spots where audio emitters didn't extend to. It also got very dark, and I fell off the map at one of those junctions. If there's a proper ending to this, I haven't gotten to it yet, but I'd like to revisit soon.
There is almost a proper ending, if you find the correct shuttle. i would,( if i had scripted it in time) taken you to another location to complete chapter 1, a few bugs and things i need to workout, Thank you so much for checking it out =^.^=
Yeah when the contest thing is overwith i'd love to get your help with the audio, I think it's because the emitter was facing a certain direction, i might just use a sphere emitter
Tyler, AHHH OK that's good to know! I'll have to come back and try to find that shuttle.
And yeah, if emitters are meant to be heard in a broader area, especially loudspeaker-type things, I recommend making them spheres. Point emitters should generally be used for smaller, focused sounds. Live and learn, it's all good.
So I've updated the scene with some repairs and new extras... It's not completely fixed. But its 80% the way there..
