I like to see dynamic objects that are dynamic fixed object that can be manipulated by scripts but is unaffected, by collisions, gravity, or people grabbing it.

Gindipple so basically take the physics out of the physics engine....

Galen Yes. I agree this would be good for certain classes of objects.
An alternative would be to have other objects respond to them just like they would to static objects. They would bounce of of these objects but these would not be moved by those impulses.
Objects in video games do not always need to obey the same physical laws that they do in the real world. What matters most are that the total system works in intuitive ways for users and that it all runs smoothly.
