Just fixing some small things in my experience, like the footstep sound. That works fine in desktop mode. But in VR there's no footstep sound at all ?
Is there any footstep sound in VR or is that disabled ?
Because it can be very loud in VR

Thanks for noticing!
Currently, footsteps are disabled in VR 1st-person, intentionally. You'll still hear them in 3rd-person.
This is a known issue (SAN-3423 in our internal bug tracker). Part of it has to do with not seeing your body in VR, and how moving around slightly could inadvertently trigger footstep sounds, even if you didn't actually take a step. It's more noticeable when using roomscale. For example, it would be confusing if you (the human) took an actual step forward but didn't hear your avatar do it in sync.
We'd also would need to reconcile it with controller locomotion, since on the Vive you can use the touchpads to also move around. As we improve motion dynamics, maybe we can revisit this... if you have examples of games/apps out there that do it well, please let me know.
Experiencing a scene and being able to hear complementary footsteps that match the terrain you're on definitely has immersive benefits.
Re: "loud", if your experience is balanced well, then you should hear footsteps (outside of 1st-person VR) in quieter parts. But if a lot is going on with audio, you probably wouldn't hear them.
My simple levels have no footsteps sounds, on most of them. Its also creator mistakes sometimes.
Thanks torley. i know footsteps are freaking annoying in VR. But it's strange when you want to check it and then it's not there.
I have already problems with sound levels between VR and desktop. everything is so much softer in desktop mode with sansar.
gfcprogramer, If you don't change an object's audio material, its walkable surface will still result in footsteps. It's only if you change it to "silent" that mutes it.
Richardus, I'm going to reply in your other related thread about this: https://help.sansar.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115010155006-Let-sansar-switch-the-default-playback-device-?page=1
