I liker to see a key shortcut that allows you to scale the whole avatar up and down in size. including a reset option to bring your avatar to normal size.
This also need to have a size limit on the experience side. So you can make people smaller if the are bigger then 2.1 meters as example.
So if I make a giant orc for a game you'd want to have some cap on how big my orcs could be?
Remember what your experience is may be completely different than what someone else's is.
They have to think not just about humans but all things that may be created.
Be they fantasy or reality
They may have some basic avatar bone shapes for humans and maybe they introduce a line of completely custom bone structures too.
Maybe some experience decides to make some strange tri-pedal creatures that you roam around in hunting bi-pedals :D
I think that You could code something like that maybe if You are building an experience, if You make Your characters and animations for Your clients.
That being said I am not sure if it will be ever possible to edit Your character at al unless You are inside the character editor and thus offline from the experience or scene.
Please do note that in general an experience is not a scene, an experience more or less should have something dynamic ongoing...think of it as a game inside a game.
This doesn't mean that a Sansar discotheque cant be an experience, but anyone could set up a home second like in SL and hire a DJ and run some music throwing a party.
You should make sure that all Your characters and assets are in perfect real scale so for the physics and lighting to behave properly.
Of course You could make an experience where everything is scald 1:10, while i am not sure how mass would be calculated by havok engine, you would have the advantage to have suddenly 40x40 km space rather than 4x4
In case of a zero gravity experience this could be a very nice option to exploit.
This idea is more, what if someone like to visit a scene with a big orc. that's not a problem if it's orc. But it would be use full if the orc can be scaled down or limited in size. Otherwise it does not fit in the scene or cannot enter a door. ANd you can still wear your orc.
A simple scale up/down/reset would fix many problem you have in SL. where people build big because avatars cannot scaled down.
A scale functionality gives more freedom in what avatars can be used. without getting stuck at doors etc.
My orc doors would be very large.
I could see someone having enforceable rights on their experience, where they simple do not allow small humans in (or large orcs)
I'm sure many people will have experiences that are catered to humans and their doors will be just right for them, and that's fine.
But don't impose some global limit on avatar size just because some places would want that.
If someone wants to build an experience that simulates life on SL, by all means do so.
Nobody did talk about a global force.

with the option to set a max. size on the scene / experience side.
To avoid grifing with 50 meter big avatars.
It could be interesting very much to make some kind of game where stuff is constantly scaling dynamically as the main feature of the game play.
However in Your case how if I understand You correctly, You are referring to the often obstacles that SL avatars have in second life.
Second life Character scale as default, ha human characters off size and bigger to real life scale by approximately15%, while mesh avatar builders offer the shape and all for their avatars coming at commonly default size , other clients tend to manipulate their avatar to be much taller reaching usually a scale offset of 30% over real life sizes, this is why it i common to see men 2.30 meter tall and women 2.15 and above with heels.
You can easily spot avatars taller than 2.4 meters.
Regardless of Sansar default avatar height, If You are to make Your characters for Your experiences You should have the good practice to keep sizes realistic. unless of course You are building something where abnormal size is part of the concept of the game experience.
Now usually when building a scene to have accuracy on scaling You need to use objects that have commonly standard measurements.
The settee of a real life chair will always be 40 centimeters, tables desks 70 centimeters, kitchen work tables 80 centimeters height ....
European ceilings have standard measures for modern and antique houses ceilings just as in the unite states....Doorways the same have standard heights and width.
Even stairs have a common classic step height and depth, and there are standard wall thicknesses for different areas of a house.
Though there are standards acknowledged all over the world, there are always variations of these standards but over all the scaling never changes, what changes is small subtleties that are needed for minor practicality purposes eg the difference between the width of the door of the entrance of a house or the width of the door of a bathroom.
Al the discrepancies and obstacles You face in second life are generally due, to the fact that in general Second Life builders learned building as a hobby while playing in second life and approached eve 3d modeling, however, it is extremely rare to find assets build with correct sizes and scaled eg 15 % bigger so to match the avatar scale that linden lab offers.
The same is true for most if not ''almost'' all of second life animations, the animators offer animations, that are veyr nice in many cases but are not designed to match scaling of objects, so as a result You might find that a sitting on a chair animation will not match a chair You build if it is scaled correctly, You can see this issue even more when it comes to sofas or stools and in many cases even tables......commonly Second Life building due to to the creator a mateurial background, leads to all thes eissues that You mentioned.
On top f that Second life cameras are not idea for avatar navigation as their pitch is rally radically at an angle, which makes it logic to eg make ceilings of a home 10 meters high instead of the just shy 3 meters that is standard.
Second Life default cam settings also use a very wide angle which radically changes the perception of scaling....if You was to set Your cam to a lesser angle in Your settings, and walked an entire sim , You would then really feel the 256 meters length and You would certainly perceive all object way more like You do in real life...naturally cameras angles are set to allow The user to have much wider viewing angle so to be able to see what is left or right for better navigation as Unfortunately in SL You cannot walk straight and at the same time use a button to turn Your head, unless You are in 1st person cam .
So it makes no sense to build a scene scaled perfectly if You do know how to engineer assets properly, and then allow an elephant to be able to enter Your toilets or Fiat 500.
Build and engineer Your scene in perfect scale, and be very accurate with the physics and offer good cam overrides or code Your own cam settings for Sansar when it will be possible, and all the issues that You face in SL will not exists on Your Sansar scene...
But do expect Second life scale chaos on Sansar if You making a scene where the people visiting and all the assets in it are not offered by You but purchased here and there on a marketplace..
Also one thing You can have on Sansar that You do not have in SL is avatar stances, meaning You can possibly code and map the keyboard so to allow the avar to do tiny humanoid classical changes to their posture, and walk and run.
Humans can lower their head, can lean left and right, can crouch, go prone, , they can even stand on their tips, they can walk on toes, walk in a combat pace, or job walk fast run or sprint...all of which are animations that need to be made and mapped to keyboard.
And this is how commonly in games where You do need realistic detail of character movement during navigation things are done...which would server the purpose of what Your feature request is about.
I have made back in time requests for keyboard mapping and stances for characters with a very accurate and detailed cam setting interface on the experience developer side, so that You as experience or scene builder, can make all of the settings required to allow the client to navigate Your Scene with the purpose it was made for...eg very arrow and low ceiling tunnels in the replica of eg an Egyptian pyramid interior tomb site, or secret passages below a castle.
So if You do have in mind to have force chasing humans that are huge but if animated properly can slide through a human sized door, you would need to animate this and it would certainly look more realistic...the problem as I see it though is that Havok physics engine is not designed for human collision interaction with objects realism as Natural Motion Euphoria physics for characters, which titles like GTA V use and base the success of their game play main features on . Nor it can support soft surface deformation which is another cutting edge technology used to deform realistically during game play cars and their vehicles when colliding or when cruising on hard terrain surfaces.
Havok is extremely powerful physics engine, but it is not assisted with this kind of new subtle technologies unless You separately license them, as a result on Sansar realism that You can find on some triple A titles is not possible when it comes to humanoid and character mesh and skeleton physical behavior
