Noise reduction filter on microphone

I just tested my microphone.  See https://help.sansar.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002443183-Meeting-Notes-May-12-2017 for instructions.

Now i noticed there's lot's of background noise compared to some other software. It seems sansar does not have a noise reduction filter build in. That would improve voice communication for lot's of people because background noise get supressed from fans etc.

Would be nice to have noise reduction filter on the audio. with checkbox in case it need turned off for testing.

  Richardus, thanks for your continued feedback. Can you please list specific "other software" you have in mind?

  And which microphone do you have?

  Some software uses an audio level gate threshold, meaning if the signal drops below a given level, it auto-mutes. Discord, for example, as shown here: https://support.plays.tv/support/solutions/articles/12000017320-adjusting-audio-volume-to-the-desired-levels

  However, there's only so much we can do to isolate a signal, so hopefully your input is high-quality with low background noise to begin with.

  Adding an active noise reduction filter is more involved (and can burden CPU usage and latency), but we're continuing to investigate better ways to improve the voice chat and overall audio experience in Sansar.

  I mean other software that have it implemented. it's other VR platform. cannot PM you the name. Not write it here. Your boss knows the person that use the noise filter.

  My microphone is a Rode M3 condensator microfoon connected to microphone amplifier that's connected to a mixer deck and then to a compressor/limiter that's routed optical to the pc. This microphone is staying on my desk.

  The HTC vive is routed out optical to the compressor/limiter to and then routed back to mixer deck and back into pc. This safes me some troubles with input devices and more control on muting.

  You give me optional idea to check for some software that can do noise reduction. But that is mabye worse solution.

  Sorry if i did not post anything there. I know it's using cpu cycles. but that coudl be fixed with a on/off switch ?
