I put together a quick Blender to Sansar tutorial covering the settings I  use.

Using Blender 2.78a

Please dont share the video outside of the forum

Important note when asking permission to use a video dont call Sansar Hifi or the developers become very angry sorry  @Jenn

  Tried to follow it and just exported a cube but it came out without the texture :(

  Is it possible from the fbx to understand where the error is?

  and the actual result is this:

  

  I actually assigned material in blender render uv smart unwrapped and associated the corresponding image (it was correctly shown by the rendered shader in blender. And exporte to fbx using the tricks specified by the video.
  
  Is there a WRITTEN tutorial explaining step by step how to do it correctly?

  Hi! 

  Try:

  Blender Phong shader setup

  All textures (except Self-Illumination) should be in .png file format.

  Blender does not automatically generate a UV set.  If you attempt to import an FBX with no UV set, Sansar fails to import with the message: "missing TexCoord channel".  

  To create a basic UV set in Blender:

  1. Select the object.
  2. Toggle the object into Edit Mode.
  3. Select the entire mesh.
  4. Choose Mesh menu > UV unwrap > Unwrap (or Smart UV Project), then press Ok.
  5. On the Material tab, create a material and set its specular to Phong.
  6. Switch to the Textures tab.

  Diff Intensity - Emissive texture.  Must be in .exr format.

  Diff Color - Diffuse.  We also support alpha masking in the diffuse texture.

  Shading Mirror - Metalness. This determines the color of reflected light.

  Specular Color - Roughness. A simple way to make this is to make a normal specular texture, then invert the black and white values.  Black areas appear glossy and white areas do not reflect light.

  Geometry Normal - Normal map.

  Note: We do not currently support any channel for use with detail maps from Blender.

  From what I can tell have to be in blender render mode. Is possible in cycles?

  i tried it in cycles, no texture. i was wondering how do we go about the faces?

  is it required to use textures for, for example metallic value if I just want a single value? or can I just set a value instead of a texture?

  I followed the video by Judas, worked like a charm first attempt.

  The video needs a sequel to address more complex items but for the basics it works fine.
