Official Rules and Conditions
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
The SansarTM Roddenberry Recovery Mission Scavenger Hunt (the “Contest”) is organized by Wookey Project Corp ( “Wookey”). Qualified Sansar account holders (“Sansar Users”) who wish to participate (“Players”) shall do so in accordance with these Official Rules.
- DURATION. The Contest begins at 5:00pm PDT July 28, 2020 (the “Start Date”) and ends on 5:00pm PDT September 21, 2020 (the “Deadline”).
- ELIGIBILITY.
A. All Contest Players must:- Have a Sansar account, Internet access, and access to a personal computer;
- Fill out and submit an entry form with full name, Sansar user name, and email address (available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSetutiBAowudU9UBgTHiniX_eW4D15dfTGYmINgRd8GHZhR5Q/viewform?usp=sf_link); and
- Be at least eighteen(18) years of age when the entry is submitted to Wookey.
Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes.
B. Employees of Wookey and/or its subsidiaries, agents, or affiliates, and any family members and/or household members of these employees, are not eligible to enter the Contest.
C. Each Player may enter the contest only once using one Sansar account. Players who violate or attempt to circumvent this rule will have their entry voided and be barred from entering any future contests on Sansar.
3. The Contest.
The objective of the Contest is to find certain items that have been hidden within Sansar, as follows: The Sansar platform contains thousands of different distinct regions (“Worlds”) that can be visited by Sansar Users. The Worlds can be accessed by clicking on the picture of the world appearing in the Sansar Codex (the “Codex”), which is both a directory of the Worlds and the method of entry. One of these Worlds is called the Roddenberry Nexus. Over the duration of the Contest, Wookey will hide 25 items from the Roddenberry Nexus in other different Worlds within Sansar. Each item has a distinct point value and each will be hidden in a different World. Each week, Wookey will post up to three clues on Sansar’s social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Twitch) that hint at the specific location of the items. Players will then use the Codex to visit different Worlds and locate the hidden Roddenberry items. When a Player’s avatar discovers a Roddenberry item, the words “Collect” and “Buy This Item” will appear. When the Player selects “Buy This Item,” the item will be placed in the Player’s inventory of items acquired from the Sansar store, which can be viewed by navigating to either the in-world editor, or by the ‘Purchases’ tab on the Sansar website after log-in (https://store.sansar.com/purchases). No actual purchase or payment of any kind is required. Items must be collected in this manner in order to be considered “retrieved” and the points associated with that item added to the Player’s total score.
At the end of the Contest, the finishing times and the points accumulated by the Players will be determined. Prizes will be awarded to the Player(s) who collect all of the Roddenberry items first, with the earliest finishing times. Any remaining prizes will be awarded to the Players who have accumulated the most points. For clarity, the Grand Prize will go to the first Player to collect all of the Roddenberry items, and if no Player collects all the items, to the Player who has accumulated the most points. The Second Prize will go to the second Player to collect all of the Roddenberry items, and if no remaining Player collects all the items, to the remaining Player who has accumulated the most points. The Third Prize will go to the third Player to collect all of the Roddenberry items, and if no remaining Player collects all the items, to the remaining Player who has accumulated the most points. In the event of a tie, the winners will be selected by random drawing from amongst the eligible Players.
Entry Forms may be submitted any time before the Contest ends at 5:00 pm, September 22, 2020. By submitting an Entry Form, the Player accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and Conditions, and consents to the Wookey Terms and Conditions and Wookey's Privacy Policy. Winners may be required to show proof of being an authorized Sansar account holder. The "authorized Sansar account holder" is the natural person assigned to the email address used to register for the Sansar account.
- SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES.
A. Determination of Winners. The winners will be determined as follows:
- Each Entry will be judged by a panel of Wookey representatives from its Sansar team (the “Judges”). All decisions by the Judges will be final and binding in all respects.
- After the Deadline, the Judges will review the items collected and corresponding point-scores for all Players who submit an Entry Form (“Entrants”).
- The Entrant who has the highest point score will be the Grand Prize Winner, the Entrant who has the second highest point score will be the Second Prize Winner, and the entrant who has the third highest score shall be the Third Prize Winner (each a “Winner,” and collectively, the “Winners”).
- In the event of a tie, the Winners will be selected by random drawing from among the Players with the highest score. If two players tie for the highest score, the drawing will determine which Player shall be the Grand Prize Winner and which will be the Second Prize Winner. If necessary, a drawing from among the Players with the second highest score may be held and the prizes will be awarded accordingly.
B. Notification to Winners. The Winners will be notified by private message or email by no later than 5:00pm PDT September 21, 2020
- PRIZES.
A. Description of Prizes.- Grand Prize: Choice of either: One Oculus Rift S VR Headset OR one Apple 128GB iPad (estimated value US$400).
- Second Prize: one $200 Amazon gift card
- Third Prize: one $100 Amazon gift card
Estimated Total Prize package value: US$700
B. The Winners will be contacted via private message or email. If a Winner cannot be contacted or does not respond to the contact within five (5) days, refuses the prize, or is ineligible to accept the prize, the relevant prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. All prizes will be awarded.
C. No request to substitute a prize for cash or other goods and services will be granted, provided, however, that Wookey reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value for any reason.
D. All federal, state, local and or other applicable taxes, licenses, title and/or registration fees or others costs, associated with winning a prize are the sole responsibility of the Winners. Wookey and its affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, shall not be responsible for any such taxes, fees, or costs.
E. Each Winner hereby gives Wookey and its affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies unrestricted permission, right, and authority to use their names together with information about the Contest and the prizes for the purposes of advertising and promotion (in any media, including but not limited to any official Sansar site or social media page, including Wookey’s Sansar forum, https://twitter.com/SansarOfficial, and in print media, television, film, video, radio, internet or otherwise) without any further notification or compensation to the Winner. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Winners will be given an opportunity to decline inclusion in such advertising and promotions without affecting their eligibility to receive the prizes.
F. Each Winner may be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, IRS W-9 or W-8BEN Form (or other applicable tax form) and, except where prohibited, a Liability/Publicity Release, in the form provided by Wookey, in order to claim a prize.
G. Any prize details not specified herein shall be determined solely by Wookey.
6. GENERAL CONDITIONS.
A. By submitting an Entry, Players agree to be contacted by Wookey or its agents by private message and/or email; and to sign any relevant documentation as requested by Wookey.
B. Players waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
C. Except where prohibited, Players agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved by arbitration under the laws of the State of California, without regard for its conflict of laws principles.
D. Neither Wookey nor any of its affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising or promotion agencies, nor any of their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, are or will be responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions, or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic or for phone, electrical, network, computer hardware or software program malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or for ISP/network/Web site accessibility or unavailability, any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human errors; technical malfunctions; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries; typographical, printing or other errors.
E. False, fraudulent or deceptive Entries or acts shall render the submitting Entrants ineligible.
F. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by Wookey, will be disqualified.
G. If disqualified for any tampering or abuses, Wookey reserves the right to terminate Entrant's eligibility to participate in this Contest or any other Contest run by Wookey.
H. In the event any portion of this Contest is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Wookey which, in the sole opinion of Wookey, corrupts, or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper submission of entries, Wookey reserves the right at their sole discretion to suspend or terminate the Contest, and select the Winners from Entries received prior to the action taken.
I. All of Wookey's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the Rules are final.
7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY.
A. Wookey is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible Entries or Entries that are lost due to computer, Internet, or electronic malfunction.
B. By entering this Contest, Players agree that Wookey and its affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, shall not be liable for personal injuries, death, damages, expenses or costs or losses of any kind resulting from participation or inability to participate in this Contest or acceptance of or use or inability to use a prize or parts thereof including, without limitation, claims, suits, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light (whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
C. Each Winner releases Wookey, and its affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns from any and all liability and responsibility with respect to a prize (including any property loss, damage, personal injury or death).
D. For residents of the EU: The provisions of B and C of this Section do not apply to claims against Wookey, its representatives and its vicarious agents for damages because of personal injury or death, and to claims for damages in case of intent or gross negligence by Wookey, its representatives or vicarious agents. In such circumstances, the release will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
E. Each Winner acknowledges that Wookey, and its affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, have neither made nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, related to a prize.
8. PRIVACY.
A. Information submitted in connection with the Contest will be treated in accordance with these Official Rules and Conditions and Wookey’s Privacy Policy located at https://www.sansar.com/privacy
B. Any personal data submitted by Players in association with this Contest will be stored on a server in the United States of America. Entry into the Contest constitutes your acknowledgement to the storage of your personal data in the United States of America and its use there for the purposes of administering this Contest and associated processing (e.g., but not limited to back-up, archiving). This server is controlled by Wookey who is not a participant in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Privacy Shield Framework. Your personal data will be stored on these servers and used for the purposes of administering this Contest and associated processing of Entries.
C. By entering this Contest, Players agree that personal information may be collected, used, by Wookey and its affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, for the sole purpose of conducting, administering, and fulfilling the Contest, including, without limitation notifying Players if chosen as a potential Winner and for prize delivery.
D. For Residents of France Only: Pursuant to French law pertaining to data collection and processing, Players have a right of access to, modification and withdrawal of personal data. Players also have the right of opposition to the data collection, under certain circumstances. To exercise such right, Players may write an e-mail to: privacy@wookey.com. The data controller is Wookey. The recipient of your personal data is Wookey. Your data will be transferred outside the European Union.
E. For Residents of Germany Only: Pursuant to the German Federal Data Protection Act, Players have a right to information about the personal data stored about them, including its origin, recipient or categories of recipients of the data and the purpose of the storage. In addition, Players have the right of correction and, in certain circumstances, to disabling and deletion of data and, in certain circumstances, the right to object to the collection, processing and use of personal data. To exercise such right, Players may write to: privacy@Wookey.com.
F. For Residents of United Kingdom Only: Entrants have the right to access, withdraw, and correct their personal data. Entrants may request such action by sending a message to privacy@wookey.com.
G. If allowed under applicable law, Players may exercise the right to access and modify the personal information about them stored by Wookey by writing to privacy@wookey.com, and detailing the request.
9. WINNER LIST. Each Winner’s name and/or username may be posted on the official Sansar site and related social channels. After September 22, 2020, the Winners’ usernames can also be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Wookey., ATTN: Community, 765 Beach Street, San Francisco, CA 94109, United States. Do not send Entries or other correspondence to this address
10. SEVERABILITY. In the event any Provision of these Official Rules and Conditions prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other provisions will remain unaffected.
