Game controller buttons

These controls are for use with the optional Xbox One or Xbox 360 game controller. To see available controls using other controllers, see Sansar controls.

Controls for visiting experiences

Use these controls while visiting experiences in VR and desktop mode. By default, the control scheme is set to Advanced for desktop mode and Simple for VR mode. Use F5 (on your keyboard) to toggle between Simple and Advanced controls in desktop or VR mode.

Simple controls (default in desktop mode)

  • Right stick: Currently disabled when visiting or editing a scene.
    • In the Atlas: Scrolls through the list.
  • Left stick: Move forward, back, left, and right.
  • Click left stick while moving: Run in the current movement direction.
  • Click right stick: Toggle between first-person and third-person view.
  • Hold right trigger (RT): Bring up the teleport beam.
    • Right stick while holding RT: Designate the teleport location.
    • Left stick while holding RT: Change the direction the avatar faces upon teleport.
    • Release RT: Teleport to location.
  • Press left bumper (LB): Adjust your avatar's height in VR to match your real world height.
  • A button while in App Launcher: Selects the highlighted option.
  • Start button: Open or close App Launcher (VR mode only).

Advanced controls (default in VR mode)

  • Right stick: Rotate the camera up, down, left, and right.
    • In the Atlas: Scrolls through the list.
  • Left stick: Move forward, back, left, or right.
  • Click left stick: Toggle between running and walking in the current direction.
  • Click right stick: Toggle between first person and third person view.
  • Hold right trigger (RT): Bring up the teleport beam.
    • Right stick while holding RT: Designate the teleport location .
    • Left stick while holding RT: Change the direction the avatar faces upon teleport.
    • Release RT: Teleport to location.
  • Press left bumper (LB): Adjust your avatar's height in VR to match your real world height.
  • A button while in App Launcher: Selects the highlighted option.
  • Start button: Open or close App Launcher (VR mode only).
  • A button while looking at a nearby dynamic object: Pick up and carry the dynamic object.
  • A button while holding a dynamic object: Press and hold to throw the dynamic object. Tap to drop the object. Hold longer to throw the object farther.

Controls for grabbing dynamic objects

Note: There are currently no avatar animations for holding and throwing dynamic objects in desktop mode. Held objects float in front of your avatar. 

In first-person view:

  • A button while looking at a nearby dynamic object: Pick up and carry the dynamic object.
  • A button while holding a dynamic object: Press and hold to throw the dynamic object. Tap to drop the object. Hold longer to throw the object farther.

In third-person view:

  • A button while near a highlighted dynamic object: Pick up and carry the dynamic object.
  • D-pad: Press left and right to select between and highlight nearby dynamic objects.
  • A button while holding a dynamic object: Press and hold to throw the dynamic object. Tap to drop the object. Hold longer to throw the object farther.

Controls for edit mode

Use these controls while editing a scene in either VR and desktop mode:

  • Right stick - Rotate the camera up, down, left, and right.
  • Left stick - Move forward, back, left, and right.
