The Atlas App

The Atlas shows all the experiences you can visit in Sansar - experiences that other people have created as well as your own. For information on how to find other people in Sansar, see Finding people in Sansar.

Browse experiences

  1. If you are using a VR headset, press the Start button on your controller or the spacebar on your keyboard to display the App Launcher.
  2. Click the Atlas button atlas.png from the App launcher.
  3. Four categories of experiences are shown: Featured, AllSansar Studios, and My Friends. There is also a Create button (desktop mode only), which allows you to create, visit, or edit your own experiences.
  4. Choose an experience using the AllSansar Studios, Featured, or My Friends tabs.
  5. When you find an experience you are interested in…
    1. To see more information about the experience, click the experience image.
    2. To travel to the experience, click the Visit button next to the experience name.
Note: On the AllSansar Studios, and My Friends tabs of the Atlas, and in search results within those tabs, you may sort the experiences by name (A-Z), Recently Created, Recently Updated, and Popularity. Select your preferred sorting method from the dropdown in the top right of the Atlas panel.

Popular experiences that are currently being visited by other people are marked with the Popular Now people-in-experience-64x64.png icon. The number next to the icon indicates the number of current visitors across all instances of the experience.

Search for an experience

Available only in desktop mode.

  1. Go to the Atlas.
  2. In the Atlas, click the Search button Atlas_Search_Icon.png.
  3. In the Search field, enter the name of an experience or the name of an experience creator and press the Enter key.
  4. When you find the experience you are interested in…
    1. To see more information about the experience, click the experience image.
    2. To travel to the experience, click the Visit button next to the experience name.

Use a link to visit an experience

Available only in desktop mode.

  1. If you receive a link in email or outside Sansar, click the link to visit.
  2. If you are currently in an experience in Sansar, you may paste the link into chat and click to visit the linked experience.

Obtain a link to an experience

Available only in desktop mode.

    1. Click the Atlas button atlas.png to open the Atlas.
    2. Select an experience from the Atlas and click on the image to bring up the experience details page.
    3. Select the Copy URL button.
    4. The link is placed on your clipboard.
    5. You can paste the link into Chat, email, or a webpage. People can click on the link to visit that experience without needing to find it in the Atlas.

Saving favorite experiences

Saved favorites can be viewed on the Favorites page of the Atlas on the Sansar website or in the Atlas app in Sansar.

On the Sansar website

When using the Atlas app on the Sansar website, you can mark your favorite experiences in order to easily find them again later:

  1. Visit the Atlas on the Sansar website.
  2. Find an experience and click it to view more information.
  3. Next to the Visit button, click the Favorite button, which is marked with a heart icon. The number that appears next to the heart indicates how many others have also marked this experience as a favorite.

Click the Favorite button to save an experience as one of your favorites.

In Sansar

When using the Atlas app in Sansar, you can mark your favorite experiences in order to easily find them again later:

  1. If you don't have the Atlas app open, access it by clicking the Atlas button atlas.png from the App launcher.
  2. Find an experience and click it to view more information.
  3. Next to the Visit button, click the Favorite button, which is marked with a heart icon. The number that appears next to the heart icon in the experience thumbnail in the  indicates how many others have also marked this experience as a favorite.
Click the Favorite button to save an experience as one of your favorites.
