This article addresses several issues that can arise when uploading 3d models (.fbx or .obj) into Sansar.
My asset fails to upload with the message: "No mesh node found"
Nothing was selected during the export process.
My asset fails to upload with the message: "Mesh [mesh name] is missing 'TexCoord' channel"
No UV map was found for the asset.
My asset fails to upload with the message: "Mesh [mesh name] is missing 'Tangent/Binormal' channel"
The Tangent/Binormal box wasn't checked while exporting the asset.
The asset uploads, but all textures appear white
Either the texture format or size are unsupported. File format must be .png and resolutions must be divisible by 2 (for example, 512x512 or 1024x1024).
The asset uploads, but a fixit texture appears
Check your file names and file paths. Fixit textures only appear for files that are applied, but cannot be found.
The asset uploads, but pieces of it appear to be missing
Your asset in your modeling program may be separated into multiple objects. Either combine all objects together to form one large object, or import each object individually.
Note: See Importing 3D objects for an overview of uploading and using 3D models in Sansar. |
